Lecture Overview:

Since the rise of translation process studies at the end of the last century, eye-tracking, an empirical data-collecting method known for its applicability and accuracy, has gradually been applied in translation and interpretingstudies (TIS). It has also become one of the major methodologies in current translation process research.Professor Zheng Binghanwill first introduce scenarios using eye-tracking technology in modern scientific research. Hewill then narrow down tospecific applications and designs of eye-tracking in various modes of translation and interpreting, and exploreresearch questionsin TIS in a combination of eye-tracking and other behavioral, psychological, physiological, and biological characteristic data. Based on the empirical TIS conducted by his translation process research team in recent years, Professor Zheng will focus on specific translation and interpreting process driven by eye-tracking data.
