Introduction of the Keynote Speaker:

Dr. Jin Lixian is Chair Professor of Applied Linguistics and the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at City University of Macau, after having being the Chair Professor at the University of Nottingham Ningbo China for nearly five years, and led a research center at a British university for over 23 years. She has supervised numerous Master's and PhD students, secured research funding and led various international research teams to study leadership and intercultural communication in business contexts. Dr. Jin has also extended qualitative research methods—metaphor analysis and narrative analysis—to explore participants' insider understanding. She has authored and edited a series of university English textbooks, including the Intercultural Communication Series (Shanghai Foreign Language Education Press), and Teachers' Books Series for New Standard College English (Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press), and Teacher's BooksSeries, New Vision College English (Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press). She has translated a series of children's picture books into English. Her over 200 publications focus on researching cultures of learning, intercultural communication, metaphor and narrative analysis and bilingual clinical assessments. Dr. Jin is currently the President of the International Association for Intercultural Communication Studies (IAICS).
