We will trace the linguistic trends from the 16th to the 20th century, understand their causes, and analyze certain trends within specific contexts. Subsequently, we will reflect on their potential roles in linguistic life. Linguistic trends may serve as the starting point for language changes or merely be transient linguistic phenomena.
