The First Department of College English
As a backbone department and an important part of the School of Foreign Languages at Wuhan University of Technology, the First Department of College English undertakes the English teaching tasks for non-English major students at the undergraduate level throughout the university. The First Department of College English currently has 49 full-time teachers, including 2 professors, 35 associate professors, and 12 lecturers. It is a teaching team composed of scholar-teachers from multiple fields such as language, literature, translation, intercultural communication, and area studies. All teachers in the department have a master's degree or above, and most of them have overseas study or further education experiences. Currently, there is 1 University-Level Distinguished Instructors for Premium Courses and 4 University-Level Young Master Teachers.
Since its establishment, the First Department of College English has always adhered to talent cultivation as the core and formulated talent cultivation standards that are in line with the characteristics of science and engineering universities. In terms of teaching, over the years, it has guided students to achieve excellent results in important competitions such as the threeFLTRP Cup Competitions, the National English Contest for College Students, and Translation & Interpreting Contest of Hubei Province. In terms of teaching competitions, the teachers in the department have repeatedly won awards in important competitions such as the Young Teachers' Teaching Competition and the Teaching Innovation Competition. In terms of curriculum construction, in recent years, it has continuously improved the construction of the main college English courses and subsequent cultural elective courses. It has participated in two national-level excellent resource courses and excellent resource sharing courses, presided over two provincial-level first-class undergraduate courses, and university-level premium courses and university-level curriculum ideology and politics demonstration courses. In terms of teaching and research, in recent years, the teachers in the department have presided over one national social science fund project and one provincial education science planning project respectively, and multiple Ministry of Education industry-university-research collaborative education projects. They have presided over or participated in dozens of provincial and university-level teaching and research projects, published several monographs, translations, and coursebooks, and achieved a number of research achievements with high academic value.

The Second Department of College English
The Second Department of College English is an important department under the School of Foreign Languages. Currently, it has 42 teachers, including 2 professors and 24 associate professors. It mainly undertakes the public English teaching tasks for non-English major students in the first and second grades of undergraduate studies throughout the university, and also undertakes the compulsory and elective English teaching tasks for some majors in relevant colleges. The department offers comprehensive English main courses from College English Level 1 to Level 4, as well as more than 10 extended courses in three categories: General English, English for Specific Purposes, and Intercultural Communication. In addition, it also offers general elective courses such as English Idioms and Culture, English Critical Thinking and Communication, and Tourism English.
In recent years, focusing on the central work of the university and the school, the Second Department of College English has actively participated in the construction of "Double First-Class" college English courses and teaching reforms. Dozens of teachers have obtained project approvals or completed projects at the Ministry of Education level, provincial level, and university level. Many teachers have received honors and titles such as University-Level Distinguished Instructors for Premium Courses, University-Level Young Master Teachers, the Teaching Quality Excellence Award of Wuhan University of Technology, and awards in provincial and university-level teaching competitions. In terms of teaching and research, in the past five years, the teachers in the department have successfully approved or completed two national social science fund projects, one humanities and social sciences research project of the Ministry of Education, and more than ten provincial and university-level social science projects. They have compiled and published several coursebooks and have published more than ten academic papers in domestic and foreign academic journals. In terms of talent cultivation, it has organized and guided students to participate in various competitions such as the National English Speech Contest for College Students, the Writing Contest, the Reading Contest, the National English Contest for College Students, and the Translation &Interpreting Contestof Hubei Province, and has won national and provincial special awards, first prizes, and other awards.

The Third Department of College English
The Third Department of College English is located on the Yujiatou Campus of Wuhan University of Technology and is an important department of the School of Foreign Languages at Wuhan University of Technology. It mainly undertakes the English teaching tasks for non-English major students at the undergraduate level on the Yujiatou Campus. The Third Department of College English has three teaching and research sections: the Odd-Grade Section, the Even-Grade Section, and the Maritime English Section, among which the Maritime English Section is a teaching and research section with professional characteristics. The Third Department of College English currently has 27 full-time teachers, including 1 professor, 17 associate professors, and 9 lecturers. It is a teaching team composed of scholar-teachers from multiple fields such as language, literature, translation, intercultural communication, and maritime professional English research. All teachers have a master's degree or above, and most of them have overseas study or further education experiences.
